Berry College // Rome, Georgia
Rebecca and Blake's wedding day was a little different than "normal." We began the day with an intimate first look at sunrise. Unfortunately, there was a thick layer of clouds all day, so there wasn't much of a sunrise. Personally, I love the overcast light of a cloudy day, so I didn't mind.
After taking a few pictures on the beautiful campus of Berry College (where both myself, Rebecca and Blake all went to college), I left the couple in a grove of pines to read letters to each other and pray. I loved that the first look wasn't all about the pictures - they wanted some space and time to be alone together and prepare their hearts for the day. They didn't see each other again until the ceremony. I loved the low-stress morning, with them together in the woods.
I met up with them later in the day for some getting ready shots and portraits of the bridal party. The ceremony was in the college chapel on Berry's campus, and it was sweet and personal and so holy. Afterwards, we did some more portraits at the incredible Ford complex, Berry's more iconic structure. I love that Rebecca and Blake intentionally set aside plenty of time for portraits of just the two of them - something that can often be rushed or even forgotten in the midst of the hustle and bustle of a wedding day.
The reception was held at Forrest Place in Rome - a lovely atrium-style space with plenty of room for dancing - and dance they did! There was such a spirit of celebration surrounding the entire day, from dawn to dusk. It was such a joy to photograph this beautiful wedding and celebrate the start of a beautiful marriage for Blake and Rebecca!
Special thanks to Caleb Timmerman for second shooting.
