Olivia & Will are good friends of mine from our college days, so it was a huge honor to photograph their wedding. I got to spend the entire day with them: from waking up and seeing one of the bridesmaids putting a few final touches on Olivia's handmade wedding gown that she made for her (swoon!), all the way to their joyful sendoff amidst cheering friends and family - I felt immersed in their wedding day story, and I truly hope that is reflected in this blog post. It was such a joy to see two wonderful people commit their lives to each other - people I've know both on and off the ultimate frisbee field, and in the Crossfit box... yes, Olivia and Will are quite athletic and most of my time with them was spent at ultimate tournaments or sweating our way through Crossfit workouts :) But I also treasure many moments with Olivia throughout college, having deep conversations or practicing photography together. They are two of the most genuine people I know, and it was refreshing to photograph their wedding. They are super laid-back, kind souls who did not let the foreboding rain forecast dampen their spirits (and it didn't rain on the ceremony or portraits!)
I really loved photographing this wedding, because everything was beautiful, and had so much meaning - my favorites were: Olivia's handmade dress, the gorgeous florals arranged by her maid-of-honor, the unique but complementing bridesmaids (see below for my close-up detail series of each of the gals), and the expansive field we got to take portraits in. And that one time they asked if they could practice their first dance in the woods during portraits... um yes?!
